The Yacht Club Wedding

We met Liz and Scott about 10 months before their wedding reception and they had planned on having a local wedding with family and friends at the Squantum Yacht Club on Wollaston Beach. The Squantum Yacht Club offered a gorgeous view of Quincy Bay, flocked with Sailboats and Seagulls. After the sun set the city lights of Boston was the center focus from the patio. At first visit to the Yacht club, the site proved challenging for us. There was no elevator and we had to haul BBQ grills and tables up a flight and a half of stairs. Liz and Scott loved the Club because of the view and were willing to work around the function room that needed a little TLC. They looked at their reception with a Cape Cod style and feel with the focus being seafood and BBQ. They also had requested an unusual cake made of fresh Watermelon, Strawberries and Hard Shell Chocolate. We were able to decorate the hall any way we wished and Liz and Scott were able to convince the club committee into a fresh coat of paint before the reception.

Liz picked out a White on White Checked Linens, Sunflowers and Tea Candles for the Dining Tables. Green Olive Set up a BBQ and Buffet on the Patio overlooking the Bay. We carefully tucked stringed lights under Fresh Greens and Loose flowers to make the buffet table reflect the starry night sky.

When Liz and Scott entered the hall after their wedding ceremony, they were startled at the beautiful transformation of the Club Hall.

They and their guests had a wonderful evening eating mussels, clams and BBQ ribs with our homemade glaze. The Cake was one of the most unusual we've served and received many compliments on its originality.

We had a wonderful time putting together the evening for Liz and Scott and their reception was certainly an affair to remember!
