The Tapas Reception
Jessica and Tim wanted an intimate reception. They booked the Commanders Mansion in Watertown and made use of the whole building for all of their needs on their wedding Day. The upstairs of the Mansion was used for the Bride, Groom and all of their attendants to prepare for the ceremony. Another of the upstairs rooms, which offered the most afternoon sunlight, was used for the ceremony in which they had a mutual friend marry them. Jessica and Tim had spent a lot of time traveling in Spain and the Mediterranean and were looking for a menu that would reflect the cuisine they had enjoyed in their travels. We had just begun to experiment with Tapas style and had a great time working with Jessica and Tim to get their menu just right. Guests loved the variety of cuisine at the reception and came back to the buffet for 2nds and 3rds. Jessica and Tim also had some specialty drinks for their guests. Cosmopolitans being Jessica's Favorite and Tom Collins' being Tim's. They also asked us to make a Red and a White Wine Sangria for them. The intimacy of the evening was very special. All of the guests were all close friends and family and so Jessica and Tim were able to spend their time visiting with their guests without feeling overburdened. The Commanders Mansion provided a wonderful venue for Jessica and Tim's Wedding and reception. It has a historically graceful style and feel. The Ballroom is decorated in Whites and Creams and Jessica embraced the look of this room by being careful not to add too much color but really bringing out the elegance by complimenting it with Pearl and White linens. Her arrangements also fit the room perfectly with white, green and soft pink arrangements. As the evening flowed, the lights softened and the dancing and reverie flowed. A perfect end to a perfect day! |
